Birmingham Electrical Training has been training the next generation of electricians for over 25 years and has formed strong working relationships with employers in the local area. As BET is a small, Government funded training provider, this allows us to be reactive to our employer’s needs, changing to meet their requirements and developments within the industry at the same time providing a high quality service.
If you are interested in taking on an electrical apprentice, please register your interest by completing our New Contractors Form located in the side panel and our Business Development Manager will contact you to discuss this in more depth, please state whether you would be looking for a new/out of work apprentice or whether you have your own candidate. If you would like further information please download our Employer Information Booklet.
BET has a rigorous recruitment process which every candidate who applies to BET is subject to, which enables BET to build a database of high quality dedicated applicants while working with you to match candidates that are right for your business and has the skills that match your business needs and generate that all important competitive advantage.
All Candidates apply direct via Application Form, school event or National Apprenticeship website. Their application form is processed and reviewed to see if they meet the recruitment requirements ie GCSE Grades A*-C or 4-9 in English & Maths.
Applicants are invited to attend an initial assessment, which includes a presentation, by our recruitment team. This diagnostic assessment measures the level in which applicants are working at and allows BET to understand whether they will meet the requirements of our advanced high value electrical apprenticeship.
If they meet our required level, each applicant is interviewed by our recruitment team, this gives applicants the opportunity to understand the process and what BET can do to support them in gaining an electrical apprenticeship. Profiles are then created and information stored on our database.
Employers who are interested in taking an apprentice will be asked to detail their requirements such as location, age and attributes, BET will then source candidates and send profiles across for them to consider, we can also arrange interviews with suitable candidates. BET can also advertise employer vacancies using the Apprentyiceshiop.Gov.uk website.
We manage apprenticeships for a range of electrical contractors and provide on-site assessment and “off the job” training.
