The Level 3 Award has been split into 3 different qualification awards. These are detailed further below.
Designed for candidates looking to test their own work
Designed for candidates who need to test others work or completing apprentices who have previously undertaken the Initial Verification during their apprenticeships.
Allows practicing electricians who want the ability to test their own work and that of others.
BET offer a combined course, delegates undertaking the 2391-52 will gain the full Level 3 Award including initial verification and period inspection qualifications.
If candidates wish to undertake either the 2391-50 or 2391-51, they can attend the same course for a reduced cost.
Testing & Inspection qualifications are aimed at practicing electricians who have not yet carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or are required to update their training prior to undertaking further electrical training. This qualification is also designed for candidates who have limited experience such as newly qualified apprentices or who have been working in different sectors of the industry.
It remains the advice for candidates who have no or limited test and inspection experience, to undertake the City & Guilds 2392 Fundamental Inspection & Testing or the 1-Day Practical Testing Refresher, also offered by BET.
The new 2391 qualification will continue to be recognised by the JIB under the ECS Card scheme, this will allow candidates to apply for their approved electrician card on completion of this qualification.
