Due to the growth of renewable energy, solar panels, more installations are now having Electrical Battery Storage included in their installations. This allows energy collected via Renewable Storages to be stored using battery storage systems, allowing consumers to use this off grid and be energy independent for periods of time.
The EAL Design, Install and Commission of EESS is a new qualification and can be taken in addition to the EAL Small Scale Solar Level 3 also offered by Birmingham Electrical Training. This qualification covers the knowledge, understanding and the skills associated with design, specification, installation, inspection, testing and commission and handover of electrical energy storage systems.
Please note, unlike other Battery Storage courses, the EAL Qualification doesn’t have an expiry date and therefore there is no requirement to redo the course every few years.
This qualification is aimed at competent electricians who wish to demonstrate they have the skills associated with EESS.
Candidates should ideally have a good working knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition and it may be advantageous to have completed either a Level 3 Test and Inspection Qualification or Solar PV Course, although this is not a requirement.
Day 1 & 2: Classroom-based teaching around above topics
Day 3: Online Exam & Practical Assessment
*Please note candidates will need to attend with a clean copy on first day of the course. If candidates need to purchase a book, we do hold a stock at reception at a cost of £75.00.
