Facilities

In 2002, Birmingham Electrical Training moved into a purpose designed training centre in Hockley, Birmingham. The Faraday Centre is designed around facilitating the successful training of electrical apprentices.

In 2016 the centre was fully refurbished and updated to encompass the changing nature of training and BETs business. This included new open plan staff offices and reception area, enlarged commercial training room and refurbished classroom and student areas.

The centre comprises:

4 Classrooms – these hold a maximum of 18 students and are fitted with the latest interactive displays.
1 Dedicated IT Suite – includes laptops, interactive display and high-speed internet connection.
Large Commercial Training Room, encompassing U-Shape style seating, drinks facilities and break-out area. This room is also equipped with an interactive display and Wi-Fi.
Large 10-bay purpose built workshop fitted to a high standard with up-to-date equipment including Solar PV Rig and EV Charging point for demonstrations.
A dedicated test-rig room for inspection and testing examinations.
Canteen with catering facilities and student Wi-Fi.
Meeting Room.
Management, Tutor and Administration Team open-plan offices.
Boardroom with computer and flat screen TV.
18 car parking places for staff. Visitors can use the parking spaces located to the side of the centre.

BET has an AM2 centre, which is located at a separate site in Hockley. Here, candidates undertake their AM2 assessment along with any refresher training courses.
